Remember who was the first league club to knock a Premier League club out of the FA Cup?
Hartlepool United 1 : Crystal Palace 0
Saville (pen), 82
This event hosted by HUST to raise money for HUST and Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation (HUCSF) brought together the players and management team from that exciting day, uniting the squad to relive that day for a night with fans.
Attendees watched the ITV highlights of the match – including that controversial penalty – before a Q&A allowed fans to quiz the players on that day, that time and what’s been happening since. It was clear that these were not just good players, but were a great squad and bunch of lads.
The evening was capped off by some comedy by Josh Daniels whose musical comedy went down a treat.
Not only did everyone have the chance to reminisce of some good times, but the event raised £2055 which was split evenly between HUST and HUCSF with each organisation receiving £1027.50. HUST fundraising director Andy Wilson was delighted to hand over a cheque to former Poolie Keith Nobbs and Maureen Smith on the HUFC pitch on a match day.
