HUST were delighted to see Pools once again support this year’s Rainbow Laces campaign. Supporters may have seen Nicky Featherstone wearing his rainbow captain’s armband at the game against Rochdale, which HUST provided along with rainbow laces for players that chose to wear them.

Rainbow Laces is a national campaign led by Stonewall where sports participants wear rainbow laces and armbands to stand in solidarity with LGBTQ+ fans of the teams and sports they follow. You can read more about this national campaign here.

Although this is an important national initiative in its own right, we also linked up with local LGBT+ support group Hart Gables to help promote the occasion at a local level. We provided tickets to some of their service users to the match against Scunthorpe and we hope they headed home happy after enjoying the great atmosphere at the Suit Direct Stadium.

The tickets, armband and laces have been funded by the players who played in a football match against Darlington Football Club Supporters Group on Sunday 12th December. The teams wore rainbow laces and armbands, and Hart Gables also came along to explain the great work they do in the community.

You should also keep an eye on Hart Gables twitter feed as well, for the chance to win a signed Pools shirt. You can read more about the work they do here
