When HUST held its first golf day back in May 2018 it was wet. Very, very wet! Thankfully, fast forward a year and the sun shone to welcome the day’s guests, including a raft of Poolie legends, to the Wynyard Golf Club for the 2019 event.
After an arrival hot drink and bacon bun it was off to the course for a shotgun start 18 hole round of the prestigious course, before returning to the clubhouse to hear Gordon Watson’s thoughts on all things Pools and football (turns out his favourite Pools player to play with Mark Tinkler). The day’s winners then received their prizes, including overall winners, longest drive, and nearest the pin awards from HUST Chairman Richard Ward, and the event was closed off with Wynyard’s special steak pie and a few more drinks.
Congratulations to the team from Harbro Electrical with Gordon Watson, overall winners on the day with a Stableford score of 100!
Below you can find some photos of the event which raised funds for HUST and to support community initiatives, and a video with HUFC’s Player of the Century Ritchie Humphreys looking at his work with the PFA.

Adam Boyd, John Brackstone, Ben Clark, Stephen Flockett, Kevin Henderson, Marty Hewitt, Ritchie Humphreys, Alan Murray, Mike Smithies, Paul Stephenson, Mark Tinkler, and the event’s very special guest speaker Gordon ‘Flash’ Watson.
