Well, we can probably all agree that 2020 hasn’t worked out how we might have expected it, however, time is ticking by and the current HUST Board are already making plans for the new year which will begin at the AGM in December. As with every year the vacant Board positions will be open for nominations and we’re looking ahead to recruit new faces, fresh ideas and important skills to the team.

With the Covid-19 lockdown cutting the 2019/20 season short, and significant changes at Hartlepool United it’s an exiting time for HUST as the club look to more formally engage with fans. The HUST board have already had discussions with the club on how we can formally support as junior partners and volunteers and this is ongoing. As a community benefit society HUST also remain ideally placed to facilitate community investment for the benefit of all fans, regardless of how much each is individually able to contribute, and again we are in discussions with the club as to what this could entail. You need only to look at newly promoted Barrow AFC to see how success can follow a club where private owners, fan investors and good management are all in place.

At the AGM in December there will be eight full board positions open to new board members as four of the six current board members (Richard Ward, Ron Harnish, Jo Grylls, Michael Weir) complete their two year terms. All four are eligible to stand again for election. Mark Goodman and Lee Crowe will remain on the board.

The following positions will also be vacant and we encourage as many members as possible to consider what contribution they can make to HUST:

  • Chair
  • Vice-Chair
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Membership secretary

Notification of elections and AGM details will be circulated to members in October by email. Please make sure we have your up to date contact details so we can get in touch.

We welcome any one interested in joining the board to contact us to find out more about the roles, the time commitment and HUST in general.

As always, thank you for your continued support.
